Haris Mohamed has been appointed Managing Director of Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC). 

The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) said that Haris was appointed as MD and Board Member of MTDC yesterday. 

Ahmed Niyaz, who previously filled the position, was dismissed last week. 

Haris has served in senior positions in the tourism and aviation sector. As such, he was a State Minister at the Tourism Ministry earlier during this administration. 

From 2015 to 2018, Haris filled the post of Acting Managing Director at MMPRC, and earlier worked as General Manager at Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
