The police stated last night the three individuals who dangerously drove motorcycles across the Sinamale' Bridge have been penalized.

A video spread across social media where motorcycles were being driven at dangerous speeds on the Sinamale' Bridge, with the vehicles having been towed for a period of 30 days.

However, the public expressed concern and the media raised questions as no action was taken against the three individuals. The police stating last night that two of the three individuals were penalized for MVR 2,000. The third individual was penalized for MVR 4,000 due to the repeat offense of dangerous driving.

Police said the three vehicles were impounded for 30 days after their drivers were found to have driven dangerously in a manner that endangered public safety and caused alarm among members of the public.

The penalization of the three motorcycle drivers stemmed from public outcry and criticism over a lack of action taken against them.

When the police media official was asked by the media, the official said they had not taken any steps against the three motorcycle drivers because no one had been harmed.

The video, which spread on social media, shows three people on three motorcycles driving on the Sinamale' Bridge at night at dangerous speeds.

They were driving in the direction of Male', with two of them laying flat on the motorcycle seat. The third individual sped past them at a high speed.

Not a lot of vehicles were seen in the video, which means the incident most likely took place late at night. Even so, there were a few other vehicles driving along the bridge at the time.
