Under the Boduthakurufaanu Magu redevelopment project, the stretch of road from MPL to the 'Tsunami Binaa' (Tsunami monument) will see renovation completed by the end of November, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu stated today. 

The President made this announcement while sharing images of the design for this phase of the project in a social media post today. 

The stretch of Boduthakurufaanu Magu from MPL to the Tsunami Binaa is the only area of the road that is yet to have asphalt laid. This is the most dilapidated part of the road, with uneven paving stones and several potholes. 

The President announced about a week ago that work on this section of the road will commence soon. 

The area of Boduthakurufaanu Magu from the Henveiru Ferry Terminal to Izzudeen Jetty was redeveloped and opened to the public yesterday. The road now has four lanes and a dedicated parking area. 

As part of the government's Five Million Tree programme, over 3,100 plants have now been planted in the redeveloped area of Boduthakurufaanu Magu, according to MTCC.

The most recently reopened area of Boduthakurufaanu Magu has coconut palms lining its side, a unique sight in capital Male'.
