Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Dr. Khalilur Rahman has arrived in Maldives as a Special Guest for activities that will be held on Maldives' 61st Independence Day.

Rahman took up his post in February, with this being his first visit to Maldives. He was invited to Maldives as a Special Guest for the Independence Day festivities.

Foreign Minister Rahman paid President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu a courtesy call this evening.

The President's Office stated the President had expressed gratitude to Minister Rahman for his attendance at official Independence Day ceremonial activities as a Special Guest of the Maldivian government.

The office went on to say that the both of them discussed how the two nations can further strengthen their relationship, along with them shedding light on how international efforts, educational opportunities and improving relationships at an individual level can be done.

President Muizzu and Minister Rahman ended the meeting by highlighting the long-standing diplomatic relation between the two countries, and after sharing that both countries stand ready in finding cooperative paths regarding industries that benefit both nations.

The envoy of Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Dr Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, will be attending Maldives' 61st Independence Day activities as a Guest of Honor.

Prince Mansour has already paid a courtesy call to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
