Prince Dr Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Minister of State and Cabinet Member of Saudi Arabia has arrived in Maldives to attend the 61st Independence Day celebrations as Guest of Honour.
He is visiting on behalf of Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prim Minister of Saudi Arabia, in response to an invitation from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam and Principal Secretary to the President on Foreign Relations Mohamed Naseer received the guest on his arrival in Maldives at the Velana International Airport.
He was welcomed with a Guard of Honour by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
Independence Day celebrations will be held tomorrow night at the Republic Swuare, featuring performances by schools, a cultural group and the MNDF. Government offices are also holding a parade of floats.
The official Independence Day reception will be held on the morning of July 26.
