The newly developed area of Boduthakurufaanu Magu is now open to the public. 

The new, modern look of Boduthakurufaanu Magu with its wide lanes and traditional coconut palms lining the street has completely changed the face of capital Male'.

The road has been widened, now having four lanes, which will largely solve the issue of traffic congestion earlier faced on the road. Asphalt has been laid on the section as well, making the complaints of potholes and uneven paving bricks a thing of the past. 

The section of Boduthakurufaanu Magu from Henveiru Ferry Terminal to the MMA building is now newly developed and open for public use. 

As part of the government's Five Million Tree Programme, more than 3,100 plants have now been planted on the redeveloped area of Boduthakurufaanu Magu, according to MTCC.

The most recently renovated stretch of Boduthakurufaanu Magu has coconut palms lining the street, a unique sight in capital Male'. 

While parking on the street will be prohibited, a dedicated parking area has been constructed in front of Bank of Maldives, with a capacity to hold 500 motorcycles. 

Following the completion of this phase of the project, MTCC will next begin redevelopment of the stretch of Boduthakurufaanu Magu from North Harbour to Rasfannu Beach, an area where the road is severely dilapidated. Design work on this stretch has already begun. 

The Boduthakurufaanu Magu redevelopment project was initiated last year. MTCC has said that they have over 200 staff members working on the project.
