Temperatures higher than average

According to the records publicized by the Maldives Meteorological (MET) Office at 11:00 am, it is hottest in Male' and GA. Kaadedhdhoo, with feels-like temperatures having reached 37.8 degrees Celsius at the time.

Weather records have shown that feels-like temperatures across various parts of Maldives are currently higher than an average of 37 degrees Celsius.

According to the records publicized by the Maldives Meteorological (MET) Office at 11:00 am, it is hottest in Male' and GA. Kaadedhdhoo, with feels-like temperatures having reached 37.8 degrees Celsius at the time.

L. Kadhdhoo has a feels-like temperature of 37.2 degrees Celsius.

The MET Office stated that the feels-like temperatures at Male', Kaadedhdhoo and Kadhdhoo are higher than average.

It is 36.9 degrees Celsius at HDh. Hanimaadhoo, with it being 31.7 degrees Celsius at Addu.

Maldives experiences its hottest days from January until June as the Northeast Monsoon (Iruvai) comes about. The Southwest Monsoon (Hulhangu) begins in May, with rainfall increasing usually in July. However, records show that there has not been much rainfall in July this year up till now.

Due to El Niño, the MET Office predicted that this year's Southwest Monsoon will see a less-than-usual amount of rainfall in Maldives.

The highest feels-like temperature was in Male' on 1st April 2024 as of yet, reaching 48 degrees Celsius.
