Two new doctors have joined service in Maldives as super-specialists in fields Maldives has so far lacked experts in. The two stand out even more given that they are identical twins. 

Dr. Althaaf Adnan Ismail and Dr Almaas Adnan Ismail come from GDh. Thinadhoo. They have completed their training and have begun service in Maldives. 

Dr. Althaaf's sub-speciality is in breast cancer operations, while Dr Almaas trained in glaucoma treatment. 

Althaaf joined Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in 2015 as a medical officer. Later, she specialized in surgery in Nepal. She then worked at HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital in 2020, and the Hulhumale' Hospital in 2021. She completed training in her sub-speciality in India. 

Almaas trained in Bangladesh. She worked as an eye specialist at IGMH, Hulhumale' Hospital and Fuvahmulah Hospital. 

She has now started consultations at the Hulhumale' Annex of EyeCare Hospital. 

Both doctors have now completed their sub-specialities and joined the team at Hulhumale' Hospital.
