Police have arrested two Egyptian men in connection with a violent altercation that occurred in K. Himmafushi. Following the arrest, the police have sent a recommendation to Immigration that the two be deported. 

A police media official said that the incident had been reported at around 7:25pm on Sunday.

Investigations into the incident led to the arrest of two Egyptian men. The court later remanded them in custody for two days. 

Unconfirmed reports indicate that one of the men is a doctor working at the Himmafushi Rehabilitation Centre, while the other is an employee of a guesthouse on the island. 

While reports say the two had assaulted a Maldivian, Police have not yet revealed any details relating to the altercation as of yet.
