STELCO stated today that as work to upgrade the electricity network in Hulhumale' 2 commences, electricity services may be interrupted in places within that area at various times starting tomorrow.

STELCO noted in a press release that following the official handover of the management of the Hulhumale' 2 electricity network to the company, important work has been scheduled to elevate the quality of electricity services in the area and to provide a reliable, sustainable service to the public.

STELCO said that the technical upgrading work required for the electricity network in Hulhumale' 2 is scheduled to be carried out from tomorrow, 21st to 31st of July.

STELCO stated that during the times this work is carried out, it is possible for electricity services to be interrupted for a short period across various areas of Hulhumale' 2.

"This company sincerely apologizes for the difficulties customers may face due to this work. And as such tasks are undertaken to improve the quality of service provided to the citizens for the long term, we express gratitude for the cooperation received from customers in this matter," the STELCO statement said.

All maintenance work of the Hulhumale' 2 electricity network, which was previously managed by HDC, was handed over to STELCO last month.

Under the agreement made between HDC and STELCO, land has also been allocated to establish a STELCO emergency response center in Hulhumale' 2.
