A man was found dead inside a guesthouse in Hulhumale' Phase I today.

A police media official said authorities received a report in the afternoon of an unconscious man at the guesthouse.

The man was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, the official said.

The deceased was identified as M. Star, Mohamed Razeen, 50.

Police are investigating the case, and no further details have been released.

Razeen had previously been arrested on multiple criminal charges.

In August last year, he was arrested and remanded for allegedly damaging the opposition MDP headquarters on Chaandhanee Magu.

He was also arrested in December 2024 for allegedly smashing the glass of a café and obstructing police officers while at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
