The services that were being offered by atoll councils for a fee are now being offered once more after being discontinued due to the councils being dissolved.
An official from the Local Government Authority (LGA) has stated the services are being offered with payment via Ban'deyri Pay.
The LGA official said the services began being offered from Sunday after the necessary changes to the system were made.
Atoll councils had previously provided services such as creating licenses for marine vessels, annual fee payments and Department of National Registration (DNR) services as well.
However, with the amendment to the Decentralization Act, atoll councils were dissolved from 17th May onward, with them being changed to LGA's atoll offices.
The services were stopped at the time due to a legal question that was posed, which was because of LGA not having the legal power to offer services for a fee, with councils on the other hand having said legal power.
The LGA official said the changes were brought after determining that those who are financially responsible for atoll offices should be the ones who are financially responsible for LGA as well.
