The Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Dr. Abdulla Muththalib has stated the opportunity to build boundary walls for the plots at Gulhifalhu under the former government's housing scheme will be announced soon.

While answering Central Machchangoalhi MP Ahmed Zameer's questions regarding the status of Gulhifalhu's dredging efforts and project expenses during today's Parliament sitting, Minister Muththalib said the current government's policy is, regardless of it being started by the previous government, to finish their projects for the citizens.

Due to many issues being present in the Land Use Plan formulated by former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's government in providing plots at Gulhifalhu, the current government has formed a new Land Use Plan and begun work in dredging Gulhifalhu even further.

Muththalib went on to say the Gulhifalhu plots will be handed over very soon to those who were given it.

"We are looking to finish work at Gulhifalhu and hopefully within this week, we will make it so that those who are to receive the plots can digitally view their plots, along with the opportunity to come into possession of their plots. The opportunity to construct boundary walls at the plots will be announced soon as well," said the minister.

As per Muththalib, the handover of the Hulhumale' Phase 3 plots are almost done. He stated that there are still 50 hectares that need dredging at Giraavarufalhu, and the dredging at the island that has been put on hold due to the war in the Middle East will continue this month.

The government has decided to give a total of 3,520 plots from Gulhifalhu. This includes the 1,347 plots that have been transferred from Giraavarfalhu to Gulhifalhu. The Housing Ministry has stated previously that almost all of the agreements regarding those who will receive plots at Gulhifalhu have been signed.
