Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef assured last night that quality dental care will be expanded, and that the government will give more attention in ensuring easy public access to dental care.

While speaking at JEN Maldives Malé by Shangri-La during the Golden Jubilee ceremony celebrating dental care services being available at government hospitals, the Vice President appealed to dental care professionals to work to make the coming years where new inventions and modern services are provided to the public.

According to the President's Office, the Vice President recognized the efforts of those who were and are currently in the dental industry and thanked them as well.

The Vice President highlighted Mohamed Saleem's name specifically, stating his continued service for the health industry for 50 years is an example to everyone, and his service will remain as a valuable legacy in the history of the Maldivian  health industry, as per the President's Office.

The Vice President went on to say having Maldivian dental care specialists that are in the workforce is something to be proud of. He also said instead of having such special services be dependent only in Male', making arrangements for quality dental care in atolls is one of the top priorities of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the government.

The Vice President said Maldivian dental care being recognized in the region for its quality is a hope as well.

The President's Office stated the Vice President inaugurated a book highlighting the history of the government's dental department, titled "From the Past to the Present" during last night's ceremony. The Vice President also gave awards of recognition to Maldivian staff who initially began providing dental care services in various sectors, along with those who introduced dental services to Maldives.
