A book set for early childhood education has been launched. The book set was inaugurated by Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.
While speaking during the ceremony, Minister Shaheem said that this effort began in 2021, and that the book set has a total of 65 books.
The set includes books from Baby Nursery, Nursery, Lower Kindergarten (LKG) and Upper Kindergarten (UKG).
"These stages include books regarding all subjects included in our national curriculum, along with subjects about Islamic literature and ethics, and an Arabic subject as well," said the minister.
The book set was compiled by the former Curriculum Developer from the National Institute for Education Mariyam Shazna, under Shaheem's supervision. While Ms. Abidha played a role in the preparation of the book regarding the subject of the Quran, the Baby Nursery book for the Arabic subject was prepared by Ms. Neena. The drawings in the books were prepared and designed by Khadheeja Abdulla.
The books were reviewed by Imthithau Abbas, Mohamed Firuzul and Shifayath Ali.
During yesterday's ceremony, 16 Baby Nursery books were introduced. While the rest of the 49 books have been completed, Minister Shaheem said that they are working to publish them.
The books have been compiled in such a way where parents can teach their children at home, with the books being able to be used at preschools during the foundation stage as well.
Minister Shaheem expressed his gratitude toward Sheikh Mohamed Latheef, CEO of Al-Madina Investments, Ali Ahsan for his administrative assistance and Co-founder of the Islamic Organization for Culture and Civilization (IOCC) Ali Ashwag for their assistance in publishing the book set.
