The Finance Ministry announced yesterday that they are seeking a contractor to develop an esports area at the Sultan Park. 

According to the announcement, the ministry is seeking a contractor on request from the Infrastructure Ministry and bidding is open to all eligible parties. 

The project will be carried out in accordance with the Infrastructure Ministry's Construction Constructor Regulation, Finance Ministry's policy on determining the number of construction projects that can be awarded on national tender, and the Economic Ministry's Foreign Direct Investment Policy. 

Prebid meeting for the project is scheduled to be held at 11am next Monday via Microsoft Teams. A non-refundable registration fee of MVR 500 will be charged from each bidder. 

Sultan Park was closed for three months from August last year for repairs and redevelopment. Following this, the park was reopened for Fitr Eid this year. However, as the work remained incomplete, the park is still closed during set hours to allow for the work to continue.
