Saudi Arabia's Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman has stated that a discussion has been held regarding relations between Maldives and Saudi Arabia, along with defense cooperation opportunities from Saudi Arabia to Maldives.

Upon invitation from Prince Salman, Maldives' Minister of Defense Hassan Rasheed is currently in Saudi Arabia.

After the two held their discussions, Minister of Defense Prince Salman wrote on his X account that they had discussed the relationship between the two nations and matters related to defense cooperation. The post also reads that they also discussed development and how they can make progress in security, stability and peace.

Minister Hassan Rasheed also met with the Deputy Military Commander of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Major General Abdullah bin Hamed Al-Qurashi.

They discussed the expansion of capacity building efforts in joint training and increasing cooperation between the two nations against terrorism. They also discussed establishing and maintaining sustainable peace and stability within the region.
