The Centre for the Holy Quran, constructed by the government in Gn. Fuvahmulah, was opened this afternoon.

The Islamic Ministry stated that the Fuvahmulah Quran Centre includes five classrooms, a prayer room, a Hifz testing room, an auditorium, and a library, in addition to an office section and a meeting room.

The ministry said that alongside this facility, Quran memorization programs will be expanded and teachers will also be increased in the city.

The ministry noted that the design work for the Islamic Centre being developed in Fuvahmulah has also been fully completed, and the concept has now been sent to the city's council to gather their feedback.

According to the ministry, once the work on the Islamic Centre is completed, the Quran Centre will be relocated to that facility. The ministry further stated that at that point, the Quran Centre opened today will be converted into a Waqf property, and the funds generated from renting it out will be spent on the city's religious activities.
