Ahmed Nasif (Didi), who filled the position of Chairman of WAMCO, has been appointed to the board of MACL.

Nasif was appointed to the position of member of the Board of Directors of MACL today.

Prior to being appointed as the Chairman of WAMCO, Nasif held the position of Chairman of HDC. He was removed from that position and transferred to WAMCO in March 2025.

Following the departure of HDC’s MD Fazul Rasheed from his post, Nasif was also in charge of running the company temporarily.

Prior to the post of HDC Chairman, Nasif filled the position of Chairman of Regional Airports Company.

Nasif also served as the Managing Director of HDC in the year 2018.

During the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen, Nasif also served as the Managing Director of Thilafushi Corporation Limited (TCL) and Greater Male' Industrial Zone Limited.

In addition to MACL, PCB has brought changes today to the boards of four additional state-owned enterprises.

In this regard, PCB stated that Aminath Raisham was removed Wednesday from the position of member of the Board of Directors of Maldives Ports Limited, and Aishath Ali, of M. Vaareyvilla, was removed from the position of member of the Board of Directors of Visit Maldives Corporation Limited.

Furthermore, Sherina Salih, of S. Hithadhoo, Welcomevilla, was appointed to the position of member of the Board of Directors of Addu International Airport Private Limited, while Saadha Ibrahim, Dhafthar No. RS 14819, was appointed to the position of Chairperson and as a member of the Board of Directors of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Limited (MTCC), PCB said.
