The awards ceremony honoring the top-performing students in the 2024 O-Level examinations will be held next month, the Ministry of Education has announced. 

According to information shared with students, the ceremony is scheduled to take place on July 11 and 12. 

The event will recognize the top 10 students from the 2024 examination cohort. 

Last year, the ministry held a combined awards ceremony for students from the 2022 and 2023 examination sessions. 

A total of 8,218 students sat for the IGCSE and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations in January this year. While examination results have already been released, it remains unclear whether students from the 2025 examination cohort will also be recognized through a separate awards programme.

In recent years, the number of students achieving top rankings in O-Level and A-Level examinations has increased. The number of Maldivian students securing world-class results in international examinations has also continued to rise.
