Criminal Court has charged Haleemath Lamha with knowingly participating in the murder of a former Filipino nurse who worked at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), Mary Grace.
Mary Grace was the wife of Marvin S. Y. Vargas (now known as Yoosuf), whom Lamha was said to have been having an affair with, along with the both of them colluding in murdering Mary in October 2021. Lamha was charged with aiding in the crime.
After the charges against Marvin were proven earlier today by the Criminal Court, the court had convicted Lamha and proven the charges against her during the hearing.
While Marvin and Lamha have had the charges proven against them, the sentence hearing will proceed next month.
The prosecution accused Lamha and Marvin of having an affair and that they had colluded in murdering Mary, with Marvin murdering his wife. The prosecution also stated that Marvin had reported Mary had committed suicide by hanging.
Marvin and Lamha had been placed in remand until the trial ended, with Lamha having been released from remand on various occasions by the Criminal Court. High Court had ordered Lamha be placed back in remand.
