A container fell during cargo clearance operations at the HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Port today, resulting in extensive damage.

A police media official stated that a report was received around 10:30 AM indicating that while lifting a container, the crane's cable snapped, causing the container to fall onto a boat.

The official noted that while no individuals sustained injuries in the incident, the circumstances surrounding how it occurred are currently being investigated.

An individual with knowledge on the matter told "Mihaaru News" that both the container and the boat sustained severe damage.

Among the damages, various parts of the boat cracked, and the goods packed inside the container were damaged.

"It is estimated that the damages will amount to approximately MVR 1 million," he said.
