Rasfannu beach area reopened to the public today following the completion of renovation and repair works.

Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure announced last night that the refurbishment of the beach area had been completed and the site was ready for public use.

The area reopened to visitors this morning.

Rasfannu was temporarily closed on 9 April to facilitate repair works.

The beach area had suffered significant erosion, while several huts and facilities at the site were damaged, affecting its use by the public.

The renovation project was carried out by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
