The Civil Court has informed the Communication Authority of Maldives to ensure the "HilayTV" website, where they provide the public with links to pirated television channels on one platform, cannot be accessed.

The case to stop HilayTV was filed by Medianet, with it reading that they attempted to create a category for Medianet and to broadcast Medianet's feeds.

Medianet's claim reads that as HilayTV informed their Telegram group that they were successful in their attempts, anyone can view the World Cup matches, which Medianet has the exclusive rights for, via their website.

And so, if it is not stopped immediately, it will bring about unforeseen consequences to the interests of Medianet and the public, as was stated in the claim, with them requesting an interim order to stop the matter.

Today, the Civil Court determined that the requirements to issue the court order for the case had been met, with an interim order having been issued. The Communication Authority of Maldives did not object to the order.

The Civil Court ordered all IP addresses to the website be blocked until Medianet's case against HilayTV is closed.
