Former Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage, Adam Naseer Ibrahim who was appointed yesterday as Special Advisor on Dhivehi Language and Nationalism at the President's Office has abruptly resigned today. 

Chief Government Spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu) stated earlier today that Adam Naseer had already commenced service as Special Advisor.

Adam Naseer was officially appointed to the post yesterday. However, Mundhu just shared a post on X announcing that Adam Naseer has handed in his resignation today. 

The reasons behind the resignation have not been disclosed as of yet. 

Adam Naseer had resigned from his cabinet position in April alongside nine other cabinet ministers. 

Besides Adam Naseer, several other cabinet ministers who resigned alongside him have since been appointed to various State positions. 

As such, former Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has been appointed Principal Secretary to the President on Policy and Manifesto.

Former Local Government Minister Adam Shareef Umar has been appointed Maldivian Ambassador to Qatar, while former Tourism Minister Thoriq Ibrahim has been appointed Maldivian Ambassador to UAE.
