The S. Hithadhoo Magistrate's Court has issued a court order to shut down a house that was used to commit crimes such as theft, robbery and the use of drugs for three months.

The police said that entry into the Hithadhoo, Laamiyaage Aage house has been prohibited and closed off from 8th June until 6th September.

The police went on to say that people who commit crimes such as theft, robbery and the use of drugs had been utilizing the house. They also said that they received complaints that the public was experiencing difficulties because of it, with the police requesting a court order as a solution to the matter.

According to the police, entry into houses that are closed down under court orders is strictly prohibited. The police also said that those who enter without permission and those who damage such places will be subject to the highest form of legal punishment.

While a court order was issued to close down a house in Hithadhoo, a café that has allegedly been involved in the illicit sale and use of drugs in Gnaviyani Fuvahmulah was shut down as well. The café was located at Funaadu, Gulisthaanuge.

The court order was issued on 29th May for 85 days.
