Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Shifan has been removed from his role as Chief Spokesperson of the Maldives Police Service.

Shifan was appointed to the post in February 2024. His removal was confirmed today.

He has not yet been assigned any other responsibilities within the police service.

Arif has been appointed as the new police Spokesperson.

Prior to the appointment, he served in the Strategic Planning and Legal Services Department and also worked previously in the Gang Crimes Department.

The change comes amid a series of recent adjustments to the administrative structure within the police service.
