The government of Maldives has strongly condemned recent drone and missile attacks targeting civilian sites and critical infrastructure in Bahrain and Kuwait, describing them as a violation of the two countries' sovereignty and a threat to regional stability.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attacks constituted a blatant breach of the sovereignty of both Bahrain and Kuwait and posed a serious risk to security in the wider region.

The government reaffirmed its full solidarity with the governments and people of Bahrain and Kuwait, expressing support for measures taken by both countries to protect their sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

The Maldives also stressed the need to prevent further escalation of tensions in the region, calling on all parties to pursue dialogue and diplomatic engagement.

"The Maldives underscores the urgent need to avoid further escalation and calls for dialogue and diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and preserve stability in the region," the statement said.
