Police have stated that in the marine accident that took place earlier today, the speedboat had collided with a supply vessel and they are investigating the case where the vessel left the scene without waiting.
The "Tour Guard" speedboat was the vessel involved in the accident that occurred at 6:30am. Two people were involved in the accident.
A police media official told Mihaaru News that their investigation was able to identify the supply vessel the speedboat collided with.

The official said that the speedboat had hit a supply vessel but since the vessel did not wait after the accident, the police are treating this as a separate case and are conducting an investigation.
When the accident occurred, there were two crew members, with them currently being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) due to them suffering major injuries, Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said earlier.
While referring to the hospital, the police said that the two crew members are now in stable condition.

One of the crew members being treated is a 38 year old Maldivian man and the other is a 30 year old expatriate.
While the police are conducting next steps within their investigation, the speedboats had been badly damaged in the accident, with the front of it being completely "destroyed".
