A bus travelling from Hulhumalé to Malé crashed into two motorcycles after attempting to stop at the traffic lights near the Sinamalé Bridge on Sunday night.

According to a passenger on the bus, the bus had been speeding and attempted to abruptly stop, resulting in the bus colliding with two motorcycles that were passing by.

Police said that an accident that occurred at the airport light at 11:00pm last night had been reported, with a woman and a man on two of the motorcycles having been injured and sent to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). The police said that no one suffered any serious injuries.

A passenger on the bus said that the accident caused the windshield of the bus to shatter and caused various injuries. 

Police said that they are investigating the accident.
