Two speedboats have collided with each other nearby Male' resulting in an accident, with two passengers having suffered major injuries.

The accident occurred near the entry into the lagoon outside the Izzuddin Jetty.

The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) stated that they are providing aid to the two individuals and the speedboat named the "Tour Guard", which was involved in the accident as well.

When the accident occurred, there were two crew members, with them currently being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) due to them suffering major injuries, as was said by the MNDF.

One of the speedboats was badly damaged in the accident, with the front of it being completely "destroyed".
