Dhamanaveshi services will be relocated to two facilities from Monday as the centre closes temporarily for renovation, the Health Ministry has said.

The ministry said last week that the Dhamanaveshi building and the adjacent thalassemia centre will undergo renovation as part of plans to establish an urban primary healthcare centre.

As a result, services currently provided at Dhamanaveshi will be transferred to the Urban Primary Health Centre in Maafannu and the GP Clinic in Hulhumale' Phase 2 from Monday.

The ministry also said staff currently working at Dhamanaveshi have been reassigned between the two facilities to ensure services continue without interruption.

Earlier, Male' City Group of Hospitals CEO Ibrahim Haleem said Dhamanaveshi services would eventually be moved to the new Urban Primary Health Centre being developed in Henveiru.

"The relocation of services currently provided by Dhamanaveshi is a temporary arrangement," Haleem said.

Dhamanaveshi serves as the main centre for childhood immunizations as well as vaccinations required for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
