The United States has announced that it will offer one scholarship opportunity under the Fulbright Student Programme to the Maldives.

In an announcement today, the US Embassy in Maldives said it will hold an online information session on June 8 to brief interested applicants about the fully funded master’s degree scholarship programme.

The session will be conducted online, and participants are required to register through the embassy.

Applicants must be Maldivian residents and hold a first degree. They are also required to demonstrate proficiency in English through a language proficiency test and submit an online application including a study plan and recommendations.

The embassy noted that applicants should be aware that recipients selected for a master’s programme beginning in fall next year may face possible travel-related challenges. These could include health-related disruptions, interruptions in consular services, or policy changes introduced by the US government.

The Fulbright Programme is one of the United States’ most well-known international academic exchange initiatives, offering fully funded postgraduate study opportunities to students from participating countries.
