A 14-year-old boy who was electrocuted in Laamu Gan has been transferred to Male' for further medical treatment.

Police said the incident was reported at around 11pm last night.

The boy initially received treatment at Gan Regional Hospital before being brought to Male' this morning.

He is currently undergoing treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.

“Police are investigating the incident,” authorities said.

A source from the island told Mihaaru News that the boy was allegedly electrocuted while attempting to connect electricity to an extension board from a roadside electricity box.

According to the source, the boy lost consciousness after the electrocution.
