Pension Office Board Member Abdul Majeed Ali has been appointed Chairperson of the office. 

The Chairperson position became vacant following the resignation in February of former Finance Minister Ahmed Inaz. 

Majeed was appointed to the Board as representative of the private sector on February 10, 2022. 

Majeed is the Managing Director of Optimo LLP, a registered audit company which provides audit and financial consultancy services. 

Majeed has previously served as a Board Member at Capital Market Development Authority. Earlier in his career, he has also worked at Bank of Maldives and Bank of Ceylon. 

Former Managing Director of Hajj Corporation, Yameen Idhrees, was appointed as a Pension Office Board Member today. 

There are eight members of the Pension Office board. These are the Chairperson, a CMDA member, a Finance Ministry member, an NSPA representative from the government's social security sector, and four members from the private sector. 

Currently, the board has four members in addition to the Chairperson.
