Employment Tribunal President Ishaaq Hussain has resigned from his post.

Ishaaq was appointed to the position in April 2024.

The reason for his resignation has not been disclosed. However, his name no longer appears among the current members listed on the tribunal’s official website.

The Employment Tribunal, established under the Employment Act, is mandated to hear disputes related to employment matters.

Its members are appointed and dismissed by the President for a five-year term.

The nine-member tribunal currently includes Vice-President Fathimath Maheera Mohamed, Maryam Rishfa, Hikuma Ahmed Nizar, Shaheema Saleem, Sausan Ali, Ishara Abdul Aziz, Fathimath Sausan and Hassan Ibrahim.
