Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced that enrolment is now open for A' Level classes at government higher secondary schools.
Applications will be accepted until Wednesday next week, the ministry said.
O'Level results were announced last Tuesday.
Age criteria
- Students who turned 16 by the end of 2025 and have not yet turned 17 years of age.
- Also eligible are students who completed Grade 10 and meet the requirements to join Grade 11, and have not yet turned 18 years of age.
In granting enrolment in A'Level classes, the students' results in BTech and O'Level exams are considered. A minimum of three passes are required.
In a bid to increase the number of students who complete A' Level studies, the government relaxed the criteria for enrolment last year, and introduced three avenues to pursue higher secondary studies: academic stream, vocational education and apprenticeship program.
To increase capacity, CHSE also now operates two schools: one in Male' and one in Hulhumale'. A' Level studies are also being introduced this year in 23 schools which till present taught up to O' Levels.
