President's financial declaration made public

The President has a total of MVR 1.8 million across three bank accounts. A remaining balance of MVR 1.3 million is to be paid for the loan under his name at the Maldives Finance and Leasing Company.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has made his financial declaration public today.

According to Article 120 of the Constitution, the person holding the office of the President must submit to the Auditor General an annual financial declaration prepared to disclose all property, monies, assets, business interests, liabilities, and debts owned by them.

As highlighted in President Muizzu's financial declaration, he has a total of MVR 1.4 million across three bank accounts.

In addition to this, his assets include Male' Dimyaath, which was received through inheritance; a MVR 5.5 million row house; a land plot named Dimyaath in HA. Vashafaru valued at MVR 150,000; and M. Fig, which was received as a gifted property.

The President also owns a car valued at MVR 260,000.

The financial declaration states that there is a loan under President Muizzu's name at the Maldives Finance and Leasing Company, with a remaining balance of MVR 1.3 million to be paid. His spouse, Sajidha Mohamed, has no loans.

The President received MVR 285,024 as salary over the past six months. Additionally, MVR 240,000 accumulated within 6 months as rent from the Hulhumale' row house. He also received MVR 180,000 as rent from M. Fig. The financial declaration states that these were funds gifted by the family.

The President's spouse, First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, received MVR 199,999 over the past six months as the First Lady's allowance. She also received MVR 78,000 as salary from the Dimyaath company and MVR 4,927 within six months as a consultant for the Health Ministry.
