350 participants from the second batch of the National Service program have graduated today.

A graduation ceremony was held at Lh. Maafilaafushi, with honorable guest Minister of Defense Hassan Rasheed presiding.

The ceremony included an oath-taking ceremony and a march by the graduates.

350 students, 64 women and 286 men, across 112 islands graduated today from the second National Service Training Course.

Addressing the graduates, the Defense Minister stated that more than 1,700 youths applied for the second round of National Service. He also stated that this shows the interest held by the Maldivian youth, with two additional batches consisting of 350 participants set to undergo training.

Along with that, the minister also said that 63 graduates from the first training course will graduate at the end of the month at B. Kihaadhoo across six different areas.

The National Service program was initially announced by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in 2024, with the program being designed specifically for youth ages between 16 to 28 years old.

1,244 youth applied for the first batch of the April 2025 program, producing 346 graduates.
