The University of Genoa has stated that Professor Monica Montefalcone is among the five Italian tourists who died today while diving in Vaavu Atoll.

While five tourists went missing during a dive near Alimathaa, only one person has been found so far. However, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that all five individuals have died.

Monica Montefalcone was an Associate Professor at the University of Genoa and a well-known Italian TV personality. She was highly regarded as an expert on the marine environment and a researcher in that field.

The professor was a prominent figure known for her deep love for the marine environment. Additionally, she served as a lead in significant projects and programs related to marine life.

According to the MNDF, among the tourists who went missing while diving in Vaavu Atoll, the person found so far was deceased inside a cave at a depth of 60 meters. The MNDF stated that the other four individuals are also believed to be inside that cave, which is approximately 200 feet long.
