South Galolhu MP Meekail Ahmed Naseem was removed from parliament chambers for protesting after the Speaker rejected an emergency motion he submitted today. 

Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla rejected Meekail's emergency motion stating that it is a false claim. 

After announcing his decision, Speaker Abdul Raheem proceeded the sitting in accordance with today's agenda. 

Meekail then protested, declaring that the parliament sitting was being conducted in violation of regulations. In response to his loud protests, the Speaker initially advised him, and then announced his name and had him removed from the chamber. 

Meekail's emergency motion concerned the imprisonment of two Adhadhu journalists on charges of contempt of court. 

Meekail said in the motion that jailing Adhadhu journalists further exhibited the rising intimidation and obstruction of journalists.
