President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has declared Sunday, 24 May, and Monday, 25 May 2026 as additional government holidays ahead of Eid al-Adha.

According to the President’s Office, the decision was made to create an extended holiday period, allowing government employees more uninterrupted time with their families during the Eid break.

Government offices are scheduled to reopen on Sunday, 31 May.

This year’s Hajj Day falls on 26 June, while Eid al-Adha holidays are scheduled from 27 June to 30 June.
