The Maldives opened an embassy in Thailand on Tuesday.
According to the website of the President’s Office, President Abdulla Yameen established the Maldivian Embassy in Thailand on Tuesday which will function under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The embassy will work on introducing the Maldives internationally while strengthening business and investment relations between the two countries. It will also assist Maldivian businessmen in Thailand and further strengthen the existing ties between the nations.
Meanwhile the leader of Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP), Mohamed “Colonel” Nasheed, has been appointed as the Ambassador of the Maldives to Thailand. He is yet to present his letter of credentials.
