The Criminal Court has handed a 25 year prison sentence to a man convicted of sexual abuse of multiple children. 

Police said that the man had been sentenced on April 30 in relation to an investigation they had conducted. 

The convicted child sex abuse offender is identified as Sharafullah Ismail, 43, of Muraka, GA. Kan'duhulhudhoo. 

He was charged under the Special Provisions Act to Deal with Child Sex Abuse Offenders. 

Police said the sentence reflects progress in their efforts to uphold a peaceful environment with low crime levels.
