Education Minister Ismail Shafeeu has said that teaching children wisely and setting a good example is the most valuable investment in their future.
In a social media message marking Children’s Day, the minister said a child’s environment plays a crucial role in shaping their development.
He said children who grow up in a safe, supportive and positive environment are more likely to become confident and capable individuals able to face life’s challenges.
“Our responsibility is to enrich their minds with knowledge, as well as fill their hearts with satisfaction and peace,” he wrote.
“Teaching wisely and setting a good example is the most valuable investment in a child’s future.”
Minister Shafeeu also called on society to ensure every child feels valued, safe and happy, adding that the example set by adults today will shape the country’s future.
He said Children’s Day should not only be seen as a celebration, but also as a moment to reflect on children’s rights and aspirations, describing them as a “sacred trust” bestowed by Allah.
