A Bangladeshi national arrested on suspicion of possessing and dealing alcohol is to be deported, police have said.

Jakir Howleda, 45, was arrested during a joint operation carried out on Tuesday by the Drug Enforcement Department and Counter Narcotics Intelligence.

Police said officers searched Jakir following his arrest and recovered six bottles of suspected liquor.

The case has since been handed over to immigration authorities for deportation, police said.
