Two Director Generals at the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) have been suspended over an ongoing internal investigation.

The two who have been indefinitely suspended are Zakariyya Hussain and Ahmed Ali, Mihaaru News reports.

Zakariyya leads the General Administration and Front Office Operations at DJA. He previously served as a member of the Civil Service Commission.

Ahmed Ali is the Director General of the Judicial Academy. He previously filled the post of Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education.

Although they are said to have been suspended in relation to an ongoing internal probe, details of this remain unclear.

While two senior officials at DJA have been suspended, the Chief Judicial Administrator, Amjad Musthafa, recently resigned. He did not elaborate on the reasons behind his decision in his resignation letter.
