As Mohamed Anas, who held the position of President of the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB), has resigned from the post, Mohamed Nizar has been appointed to the position today.
The Ministry of Finance stated that the President has accepted the resignation of Anas, of Dheliyage, GA. Devvadhoo. Consequently, the Ministry announced that Nizar, of Ma. Yellowbell, has been appointed to the board.
Nizar, who attained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Australia, previously served as the President of the PCB from 2014 to 2019.
Having served at STO for more than 20 years, Nizar has also held senior positions in key departments of the company, such as Imports, Administration, and Sales. During his tenure at STO, he participated in significant efforts such as strengthening the supply chain and bolstering international trade relations.
In addition to that company, he has actively served as a board member for entities like Maldive Gas and participated in various national-level committees related to risk management, procurement, and corporate governance.
Major changes are currently being implemented to strengthen government operations. This includes changing the heads of various state companies and institutions.
