Results from more than 400 students who sat A-level examinations at Villa International High School (VIHS) were not submitted for rechecking within the required deadline, prompting efforts to find a solution.

The students sat the Edexcel A-level exams in the October/November session last year.

Concern was raised by Mohamed Firaq, a businessman and VIHS parent, who said in a social media post that the school had failed to submit recheck applications on time.

He said the consequences could be significant, with students losing the opportunity to have their results reviewed.

“This will have major implications for students’ final grades, university placements overseas and their broader academic prospects,” he said, adding that rechecking is particularly important for those competing for national awards and places in highly competitive programmes.

Firaq said the incident had raised concerns about administrative responsibility and the credibility of an international school entrusted with students’ academic futures.

Responding to the issue, the school’s principal, Ali Musthafa, confirmed that the problem had occurred.

“We are working with the Ministry of Education, Cambridge and DPE to resolve the issue. A solution will be found and parents will be informed,” he said.

He added that the school would prioritise securing the best possible outcome for its students.

More than 400 students from the school sat the exams, with 105 placing in the national top 10.
