The Ministry of Foreign affairs has announced that effective today, Maldivians traveling to Azerbaijan will be exempt from visa requirements for up to 90 days from entry.

While diplomatic and official passport holders were extended the visa exemption from June 18, 2025, the mutual Visa Exemption Agreement for ordinary passport holders signed on September 24, 2025, came into effect today, the Foreign Ministry said.

With this, all Maldivians are now exempt from visa requirements to enter and stay in Azerbaijan for a maximum of 90 days.

Travelers intending to stay for a longer period, or to work, study, or conduct business in Azerbaijan must still obtain the necessary visa prior to travel.

Maldives has established diplomatic ties with 186 countries. Maldivians can travel to over 60 of these countries without a visa, while on-arrival visas are issued at 26 other countries.
